Last year, was not eternal; Rome was, until it wasn’t. NATO strength, was eternal; until Ukraine, lost the war. Eternal change! Eternal change! Eternal change! The British Pound, eternal; the eternal dollar, unbreakable. A moral, rotten; a nation, broken. US, isolated; arming Gaza’s genocide. Many things changed in 2023 and the trend follows in 2024. In 2023, gold started at 1890; in 2024, at 2062. Since 1913, the FED rule the world with the USA dollar; since 1971, Pandora’s currency, “liberated” from gold. Thin air currencies, cannot sustain economies; but gold is still money, and currency still paper. Before looking Rome’s fall, let’s look the great change that happened to the eternal Catholic Church in the Renaissance.
Martin Luther, a professor of moral theology in 1517.
In the year of the Lord 1517, Martin Luther, a professor of moral theology at the University of Wittenberg in Germany, nailed its 95 Theses in the door of a church. By the way, printed press helped. It was a list of propositions showing the abuse of the Catholic clergy. Apparently, the Vatican was short of money to fund the construction of today’s St Peters Basilica in Rome. They begin to sell indulgences telling poor people (and naib), to reduce the time in purgatory for the sins their love ones had committed before they died. Luther, could not stand that fraud; the rest, is history.
Fall of Rome.
Although the eternal Roman Empire did not disappear until 476 AD, a multitude of factors were the cause and we can name a few. Rome begins to melt gold with copper, devaluating its currency; Barbarian invasions, become military defeats; the Rome bread-basket was doomed when the Vandals conquered North Africa, cutting wheat supply to the empire; incompetent leadership, of an empire critically dependent on leadership; second class Romanized Barbarians, in disadvantage from Italian leadership centralized control.

It can be said that the Catholic Church replaced the central authority of the political-military empire in western Europe. By the way, the Orthodox Church of the Byzantine Empire played a central role in its coherence and it still plays a central role in today’s Russia. After the Ottoman Empire invaded Constantinople, its Orthodox church moved to Moscow and survived the USSR and it looks like it’s still healthy today.
