Champions Renaissance

(Answer at the end).

LIES

By Charles Kocian

During the UN meeting last Tuesday, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Ukraine was “desperately clinging to whatever is available”. He also mentioned that “a drowning person… is dangerous and can drown the rescuer.”  He continued to say that: “They say a drowning man is grasping at straws. This is a bit like the situation between Poland and Ukraine now”. Polish authorities also said that they cannot send more arms to Ukraine because they already sent them all. Another sign of divorce between the two countries was the cancellation of a scheduled meeting in New York, of the Polish President with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

At the same time US famous journalist Seymour Hersh has been informed that the US intelligence believes Ukrainian forces are demoralized and have no chance of winning. “There are significant elements in the American intelligence community, relying on field reports and technical intelligence, who believe that the demoralized Ukraine army has given up on the possibility of overcoming the heavily mined three-tier Russian defence lines and taking the war to Crimea and the four oblasts seized and annexed by Russia. The reality is that Volodymyr Zelensky’s battered army no longer has any chance of a victory”. Hersh added that he also has been informed that Ukraine’s claims of incremental progress in the offensive are only lies.

Reality: Ukraine losing the war.

By contrast, last Tuesday President Joe Biden made an imperative call for the leaders of the world to support President Zelensky in the war in the UN meeting. “If we allow Ukraine to be carved up, is the independence of any nation secure? I respectfully suggest the answer is no. We have to stand up to this naked aggression today and deter other would-be aggressors tomorrow… That’s why the United States, together with our allies and partners around the world, will continue to stand with the brave people of Ukraine as they defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity and their freedom,” Biden said, but omitting that the West violated the Minsk agreements with Putin and its promise to no expand NATO towards Russia.

Is this just bad faith or perhaps leaders of the world may have cognitive dissonance between their imagined representation of the world and the real objective world? Are they telling themselves a lie? Did something similar happened in times of the Renaissance? The clash between Galileo and the Inquisition illustrates the intolerance of faith towards facts, in this case, the fact that the Earth has always moved. We all know that Galileo was imprisoned for life for being loyal to reality. Giordano Brunno was not that lucky and was burned some years earlier. Both were condemned for the same heresy: to think from evidence.

Galileo condemned by the Inquisition.

And what happened at the times of Plato and Aristotle? Socrates was condemned to death because he was interested to think beyond its culture. Aristotle was the champion of scientific reality, understanding that ideas derived from sensory perceptions, experimentation and logic. Instead, its teacher Plato, believed that ideas could exist before brains. But the truth is that the material reality of the physical space we perceive with our senses prevails and exist independently of our imaginary representation of the world and, when we distort reality in our minds, that is, when we lie ourselves, we fail; and in war, we die.

CONCLUSION

The conclusion of this post is that, in any particular situation, for any nation or individual, in peace-time or war-time, the objective material reality (of the physical space) exists by its own with its own natural-absolute-laws. In other words, the material existence exists independently from any imaginary representation of it. In the long term, mystics and sceptics cannot success in real life, because their distorted representation of the world (a lie) doesn’t match the real world. So, there is a price to pay to live in a represented world that is a lie: failure or death.

Now the answer to question 70.

QUESTION N° 70

b) No.
